ACH Transfer

Hi, welcome to ACH Transfer (AchTransfer.net).  Are you looking to transfer money to your loved one that is living in another part of the world or do you need to transfer money to do a business payment?

Then Automated Clearing House transfer (or in short known as ACH transfer) may be what you need to transfer money.  It allows you to transfer money quickly and easily without having you physically visiting your bank to initiate the transfer.

This is the clear choice because we can initiate a transfer in the comfort of our home or office as long as we have Internet connection and a ACH account with a bank or a reputable agent.

There are so much things that we need to do in a day that queuing in the bank in order to initiate a fund transfer is simply not what we want.

How Does ACH Transfer Works?

How ACH transfer works is that once you initiate a fund transfer from your online ACH account the bank will the perform a ACH debit of the amount that you want and credit it to intended receiver’s account.

On the other hand, if you are receiving money the bank will then perform a ACH credit of the amount that is due to you into your banking account and debit this amount from the sender’s account.

ACH transfer is not new, it has been around since the 70s and works as a medium for fund transfer.

ACH payment is like eCheck just that you do not need to write a physical check and you can schedule a payment at regular interval to the same receiver by instructing your bank when to pay and the amount to pay.

This electronic financial transaction service is governed by a set of rules and regulations established by NACHA (formerly known as the National Automated Clearing House Association) and the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve is the largest ACH clearing house operator in the United States handling most of commercial interbank ACH transactions.

There is also a privately operated ACH operator in the U.S that handles the rest of the ACH transactions and this is the EPN (also known as Electronic Payments Network.

Together EPN and the Federal Reserve Banks handles all the ACH transfer and rely on each other for the processing transactions when either party to the transaction is not their customer.

How Long Does ACH Transfer takes to be Completed

Generally the whole ACH processing cycle requires at least 2 to 4 days to complete, this means that you should not expect money transfer to be effected immediately. The reason why it takes so long is that the actual ACH process is done in batches and the bank will only activate an automated transfer and deposit the money to the intended receiver at a fixed date.

Is ACH Transfer Free?

Although this service is widely used by many nowaday, however, initiating a ACH transfer is not free, most banks will charge a fee for each ACH transaction but the fees charged are relatively cheaper than wire transfer.

Here in the ACH Transfer website you can find more information about ACH transfers and the companies that offer such services.

How Safe is the ACH Transaction Process?

Setting up a ACH transfer account with the bank is always safe but the same cannot be said of some of the third party agents.  Always sign up an ACH account with reputable agency or bank because there are many individuals out there that claim to be authorized ACH agent but the only thing that they do is to take your money away without actually transferring it to the intended recipient.

Also, to prevent fraud if you are a business owner and is using ACH for money transfer, some banks now offers an added security service to which you can subscribe to which will alert you if a suspicious transfer request has been activated.

You can choose to be alert via SMS or email and you can immediately put a stop or authorize the bank to proceed with the transfer. With this, even though you are away on a holiday or in an important meeting you do not have to worry that funds are being siphon out from your company’s account.

When this happen, all you need is to do is simply reply to the alert and the bank will suspend the ACH processing for that request until investigation is completed or further instruction given.

ACH transfer is safe but you have to do your due diligent before initiating an fund transfer.
